FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need Planning Permission?
Planning permission is a complicated area that is best left to the experts. Our planning agents can obtain this approval on your behalf. Our applications are rarely rejected as we take care to consult with the planning officer before submitting our application. If your house is listed or in a conservation area, our excellent longstanding relationship with Local Authorities and Planning Offices in the South East greatly assists us in obtaining the best solutions in the many delicate areas of planning including Listed Building Consent. A helpful site is the Planning Portal or feel free to call us for advice on 01243 538999
2. What impact will my building have on the environment?
At Room Outside® we utilize the beauty of managed hardwood to limit the impact on the environment without compromising the longevity of our buildings. In many cases, a new garden room improves the insulation on what is often a very poorly insulated area of the house.
3. Will my building be high maintenance?
It doesnt have to be with our mix of various products. Our range of PVCu and Exclusive Alumunium & Ash products provide low maintenance options whilst still providing a range of stylish designs. A general clean once a year using our Groom Outside service is generally all it will need. However, if you choose a Hardwood option then you will need to assume that it will need repainting or varnishing approximately every 5 years. However, all roofs are virtually maintenance free with powder coated aluminium glazing caps.
4. Will it be cold in winter and hot in summer?
Exclusively to Room Outside® we can specify our revolutionary New Generation Glass designed specifically for the British climate with its excellent Solar Control, Thermal Insulation Properties, together with dual action self-cleaning glass. This is ONLY available from Room Outside in Chichester.
5. Who will be carrying out the works at my house?
All of our installers come with the very best references and are contractually bound to work to our stringent high standards. Throughout the development a highly trained project manager overseas the vital stages of the build.
6. What if something goes wrong in the future?
Each of our conservatories has the benefit of our comprehensive 5 year structural and double glazed unit guarantee (subject to satisfactory maintenance). Outside Installations undertake to guarantee the installation and construction (when applicable) for a period of 10 years.
7. Can I buy additional windows to match the style of my new extension?
Yes we can supply matching windows and doors to match your new Conservatory, simply asks our designer to provide an estimate with your proposal.
